KINE SNAP / PRIVACY

Your work.
On your Mac.

How Kine Snap handles your captures, voice notes, and files—and what happens when you visit this site or contact us.

Privacy Policy · Updated October 13, 2026

This policy covers the current Kine Snap macOS app and its product, support, and privacy pages at kinesnap.gotsai.club. Kine Snap is a GOTSTAR CLUB project and is not yet available on the Mac App Store.

1. What the app processes

Kine Snap processes the screen regions you capture, your numbered marks, recorded voice notes, transcribed or typed text, and generated documents on your Mac. The current app has no account system, advertising SDK, behavioral analytics SDK, or developer-operated content-upload service. It does not send your screenshots, recordings, notes, or device-button bindings to us.

This does not mean that no information ever leaves your device: downloading Apple language resources, system syncing, sharing files with another app, visiting this website, and emailing support are separate activities described below.

2. Permissions and local preferences

  • Screen capture: used when you actively start a region capture.
  • Microphone: used when you actively record a voice note. Permission alone does not begin recording.
  • Folder access: the default library lives inside the app’s sandbox. If you choose another folder, the macOS file picker grants access and the app saves a local security-scoped bookmark to reopen it.
  • Optional device buttons: Input Monitoring is requested only when you choose to set up other-device buttons. USB and Bluetooth access support compatible device buttons. Ordinary keyboard and mouse controls do not require Input Monitoring.

You can manage system permissions in macOS System Settings. Interface language, recognition language, shortcuts, library access, and the clipboard preference are stored locally in the app’s preferences.

For an optional device-button binding, the app saves the vendor and product IDs, button identifiers, product display name, and a serial number when the device supplies one, so it can match the same binding later. This stays on your Mac; the app does not keep a continuous button-event history. Learning or foreground recording controls use these button signals, not a general record of your typing or activity. Switching to a keyboard or mouse binding, or restoring Space, removes the previous HID binding description.

3. Apple speech resources

Voice notes are transcribed with Apple’s on-device SpeechAnalyzer and SpeechTranscriber technology. When resources for the selected language are ready, transcription runs on your Mac. Kine Snap does not provide a cloud-transcription fallback.

If resources are missing, you can initiate a download in the app. macOS obtains and manages them from Apple; Kine Snap does not host or distribute the models. Downloading requires an internet connection and does not activate the microphone. Apple’s system services are governed by Apple’s privacy information. See also Apple’s introduction to on-device speech transcription.

4. Files, drafts, and deletion

Completed tasks are saved in the library you choose. The default is Documents/Kine Snap inside the app’s sandbox. Each export creates a separate version containing the document, images, original captures, and task metadata. Files are not automatically deleted after a set time. Changing the library location does not move or delete the old library.

Unfinished work is saved as private drafts in the app’s Application Support storage. Audio may be saved temporarily for transcription, recovery, or undo. After a successful transcription, audio no longer needed by the task or undo history is cleaned up. Completed exports do not contain the recordings; after a successful save and copy, the app removes the draft. A cleanup failure is reported rather than treated as successful deletion.

Closing the editor keeps the draft. Explicitly discarding an unfinished task removes its unexported draft. In the library, Move to Trash moves the saved task and associated files to the macOS Trash, where you control final deletion. Any copies, backups, previously used library folders, or files shared elsewhere must be managed separately.

Opening or re-copying an older Markdown document can update its image-link format after retaining a backup of the original document. These backups remain with the files until you remove them.

5. Clipboard and sharing

Finish & Copy saves the files first, then places the Markdown document and annotated PNG files on the macOS clipboard as file references. The files remain in the library. Older PDF documents can also be copied as individual files.

Markdown image links contain the actual local image paths, which may include your macOS username or folder names. Review this information before sharing a document. A path by itself does not upload an image or grant another app access to your folders.

The clipboard follows macOS behavior unless you enable Kine Snap’s option to keep the clipboard on this Mac only. Without that option, system features such as Universal Clipboard may apply. If you choose a library folder managed by iCloud, a backup service, or another sync provider, that service may copy the files according to your settings.

Kine Snap does not automatically send messages, control the receiving app, or upload your work to a receiving service. When you paste, attach, or upload the files yourself, that app or service handles them under its own terms and privacy practices.

6. This website

This website is hosted through Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting the site may involve processing request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, and technical connection or browser information. This is separate from the local content created in the Kine Snap app. For Cloudflare’s practices, see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy; we do not promise a specific hosting-log retention period here.

These pages do not include advertising or behavioral tracking scripts added by us. The language control may store your chosen website language locally in your browser; it is not an account or an advertising identifier. Clearing this site’s browser data removes that preference. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

7. When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach so we can respond to your request. Messages are handled through email services, not the app’s local document library. Please send only what is needed and remove sensitive information first.

We cannot remotely access, retrieve, or delete the app content stored on your Mac. For a question about information you have sent to support, including a request to correct or delete it, contact [email protected]. We will review your request; this policy does not promise deletion of copies held by independent recipients or service providers.

8. Updates and contact

We will update this page when the described practices change and revise the date above. For privacy questions about Kine Snap / GOTSTAR CLUB, email [email protected]. For practical help managing permissions and files, visit Support.
